Solar Panel Performance
Solar Facts:
- The UK receives 60% of the solar energy compared with the equator.
- This is equivalent to 1000 power stations.
- An average property uses 3000kwh to heat their domestic water each year.
- This equates to 8.22kwh requirement each day.
- Each square metre of the UK (at 30deg angle) receives 900 degC 1200kwh of heat each year.
Below is a chart showing the heating capacity of typical Solar panels.
Jan Feb Mar Apr May Jun Jul Aug Sep Oct Nov Dec
kwh /m2 Day 0.64 1.17 1.94 3.32 4.17 5.00 4.44 3.61 2.78 1.67 0.78 0.47

20 Tube Panel = 2.25m2 / 30 tube Panel = 3.38m2 / Efficiency = 70 to 80%
The figures in the table are the average daily kwh of heat generated for each respective month.
Example:- 20 Tube Panel equates to an average total of 4.48kwh of heat each day throughout the year thus reducing your annual hot water heating bill by at least 50%.
Total average yearly output for a 2.25m Solar Panel = 1635kwh
