Energy Saving Trust and Best Practice - have your say…
The Energy Saving Trust reckon the best solar installations include old fashioned full volume twin cylinder designs. We never fit these: our safety review shows they have unnecessary risk of Legionellosis, unless the solar cylinder is a thermal store.EST also say that zero carbon solar has no merit over mains powered plug in solar (which can claw back 20% of its carbon savings by using mains leccy).EST also define "best practice" is as "existing practice". Does the EST seek to drive forward improvements - or fossilise the solar industry? From the EST draft solar best practice consultation paper.
